About Joshua & Brandy Hommes
Joshua and Brandy Hommes are the founders of Fire & Water Ministries, a movement birthed in October 2021 and rooted in their shared passion to see families restored, disciples awakened, and believers fully walking in their God-given identity. Their journey began when they met serving together in an addiction recovery program, Joshua as the media and worship director, and Brandy in the front office after graduating the program where God radically saved her and delivered her from addiction at age 22. Joshua, who has walked with the Lord since age 7, knew early on that God had called them together; and one night while they were teaching a class, the Lord showed him they would one day minister to marriages and families. They began dating in 2013 and married on April 6, 2014, building their life and ministry on Matthew 6:33–34, the scripture that still anchors their home and the heartbeat of Fire & Water Ministries.
In their early years, Joshua and Brandy primarily served through worship, but God continued to expand their call, moving them into counseling, discipleship, prayer ministry, media, and leadership. God originally gave them the vision to build a camp in north Alabama, but through a sovereign series of events, the Lord brought them back to the Gulf Coast to refine, stretch, and prepare them for what was coming next. In time, He began breathing fresh life into the name Fire & Water, and through what started as simple morning livestreams, the Lord ignited a growing online community hungry for Jesus, healing, identity, and revival.
Today, Joshua and Brandy carry a burning desire to see God’s people healed from trauma so they can love and lead well, believing that hurt people, hurt people, but healed people, heal people. Their heartbeat is for every believer to know WHOSE they are, because true identity is only found in Christ. They long to see people awakened to the call that God has placed inside of them and given a platform to learn, grow, and launch from, because the Church is built on all of us, functioning together as God designed, with nobody left out.
As Fire & Water Ministries continues to expand through daily livestreams, and the growing call to travel and evangelize across America, Joshua and Brandy remain committed to one thing above all: seeking first the Kingdom of God and His righteousness, and trusting Him to unfold every step in the journey ahead.
